Actress Elisabeth Rohm, known for her portrayal of District Attorney Southerlyn on NBC’s Law & Order has officially signed on to the highly anticipated Heart of a Woman. Elisabeth has starred in over forty of Hollywood’s top productions, including Heroes, CSI: Miami, Angel, Big Shots, and Miss Congeniality 2.

Most recently Elisabeth has appeared as a regular on the recent Lifetime hit dramatic series The Client List starring alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt. Elisabeth will also be appearing in the highly anticipated TV conclusion to the Lake Placid franchise due out later this year, starring as Sheriff Theresa Giove.

Elisabeth has been handpicked for the role of Sasha in Featured Film Heart Of A Woman, based off Memoir I Rise by Toni Newman (which has been critically acclaimed) to be shot in October 2012. The Heart Of A Woman is Feature Film based off Chapter: 7 (The Erotic Professionals) in the book I Rise about three very different individuals (Terri, Derrick, and Pamela) living in Los Angeles, and engaged to some degree or another in the sex industry. This powerful drama capitalizes on the ongoing struggle for understanding and survival; in a city that oftentimes takes no prisoners physically, emotionally and spiritually, the characters from Heart Of A Woman persevere. The film promotes equal rights and freedoms for Transgenders in the United States.

Not only a talented actress, but also a dedicated humanitarian; Elisabeth began working on behalf of the Red Cross as both an ambassador and a trained emergency volunteer, visiting troops and providing aid as far away as Asia. She was honored as an advocate of the Red Cross for creating the Hometown Heroes campaign, featuring a multitude of volunteers, including Julianne Moore and Jamie Lee Curtis. Elisabeth also works with Step Up Women’s Network – an after school program for inner city girls in LA, and MakeTheConnection.org, bringing attention to the connection between cervical cancer and HPV. She joined the Humane Society and Purina to encourage animal rescue and fostering, as she has done with the animals that enrich her own life, as well as supporting Global Green, The March of Dimes, and Refugees International.
